A cozy little retreat outback in the forests of Sariska, with crystal clear skies, jewelled with millions of visible stars. A perfect holiday for anyone enthusiastic and passionate about astronomy

Astroport has astronomy sessions each night, and they provide you with amazing telescopes to view the night sky. Their experts guide and explain to you all about the spectacle of space. While the general explanation is relatively basic, because being in the forest ensures zero light pollution, you can see most celestial bodies that are present in the sky. After the astronomy, they have an astrophotography session, in which you may get a photo clicked with the stars. In the morning a rocket making lesson is given. water and air pressure combined launch a plastic bottle which is cut and pasted to become aerodynamic. it flies a good 100 feet vertically. (P.S. the image attached has a pretend telescope, that’s not what’s used for astronomy.)

A few things we saw were:

• Saturn, with its rings in stunning quality
• Jupiter, along with 4 of it’s moons
• The Hubble space telescope (from the naked eye)
• Mars
• Orion’s Nebula
• Beehive cluster
